Ode to a chatroom

Ode To A Chatroom

One day I decided to get on the net,
I thought a chat room would be my best bet.
I saw names and words come up from where
I knew not.
I soon took a chance and had a nice thought,
Could I do this, it looked really neat.
I saw names on the screen that started with sweet,
sweet smiles, Jo, and Smokey were there too,
And then I saw it, "Oh, yes, we're talking to you,
come on in and chat for awhile. "
And when I did I started to smile.
I saw Chuckie and Robbie and soon I was friends
with quite a few people by the days end.
And after awhile they called me their friend.
Sometimes I come in and my friends are not there,
But I'll go back again because I know that they care.
Some live in the states and some do not,

But they always know when I need to talk.
I am so glad I took the leap and went into the
chat room where friends are so neat.

A Mockery to a Chatter

Hey, you think its cool to be a chatter?

You love the messenger so much

And forget there’s more to life than just chat

Chat ruins life,

It twists your logic and makes you dumb

Makes you think what is wrong is right

Taking weed is better I guess

Than being a stupid chatter with no sense

You drew away from the real world

Which include your real family and friends

You exchange morning coffee and breakfast

Just to wait and chat with a so-called friend

You hate work, or study and practically prefer to chat

Because if you do

You think you miss so much of the “happy moments”

But you don’t realize what you’re really missing

Is being a real person in a real world

You think your bestest friend is your friend online

You think they’re always there when you need them

You think you have found Mr. or Ms. Right online

You think you are actually falling in love

So perfectly sweet, and gentle, and true

Says the sweetest words, and cares when nobody else cares

You think you found a family online

Because even if you’re wrong “they still accept you as you are”

You think they’re fighting for you

You think they care for you

And you think you are cool, the smartest ass ever

Prettiest, and sexiest creature amongst the rest

You talk, say, and do just as anything you like

Be a bitch or an asshole to those who disagree with you

Or be an angel to those who are kissing your ass

Don’t you know the one you’re calling your best friend online

Is the same person stealing your boyfriend?

Stabbing you right behind your back?

Don’t you know all the sweet things Mr. or Ms. Right is saying to you

Are the same sweet things he or she has said to a previous chatter?

Or to the very person you think is your friend?

Don’t you know the people you think your family

Are the very same people who will kick your ass one day?

Don’t you know you are not really that cool?

Or smart, or pretty, or sexy?

You probably are, but there’s no sense feeling so godly about it

You just think you are, because you pretend to be one

You know very well your imperfections

But you don’t mind because you are drowning with flattery

Like water you go with the flow of deceit

A life full of pretensions, a life full of intrigues

Of lesser values, of barbaric beliefs and attitudes

You laugh but your laugh is hollow

And you know that this is true

Because every night, you will find yourself still thinking

And feeling that there is something or someone you are missing

Honey! Wake up! What you are really missing is your life,

And that someone is your very own self you have deprived of so many things

Your very own self that you have deprived to be real,

A chatter is a pretender, a make-believe,

Living too good to be true

Too happy to be real

And too chaotic to be cool

Chat is an addiction

Which redirects you to a total disaster

Much worser that Meta-ampethamine

Much dreadful that AIDS

It ruins life

Ruins values

Ruins mindfulness

Ruins sensibility and sensitivity

Ruins better judgment

Reality bites you know, but it’s better than living in pretensions and deceit
